We had had experience singing in our school choir from a young age, but we’re never very confident with our voices. However, we did really enjoy singing in Japanese recreationally, and wanted to find a vocal teacher that could help us improve, especially when singing in Japanese. After searching for a long time, we found Ko! Not only was he willing to teach us in Japanese upon our request, but he is an amazingly talented and patient teacher! In only a few months, we can hear the difference in our voices, and feel that we’re much more in tune with our bodies while singing rather than just releasing sound. He creates a relaxing and friendly atmosphere during lessons, it’s really a pleasure to be able to learn from him! We can’t wait to improve our singing skills even more.
When I moved to Vancouver I had to find someone who would be the best vocal instructor for my purposes. I am so glad I was able to find Koichi. I always try to see Koichi before every recording and the results are always surprisingly amazing. I can see the difference in my voice immediately after his first correction or advice. I would 100% recommend him for everybody, even if you never sang a note in your life or if you have music as your career.
Coming to the studio with a small start in voice training already, taking lessons with Ko really helped me become more confident with my singing. It is always a wonderful experience to practice and discuss what I can improve, and Ko always offers extremely helpful insight and warm words of encouragement. After every lesson I leave the studio knowing I was able to learn and apply what I learned to further improve. I absolutely recommend KVS to anyone seeking to learn how to sing or to further improve their singing!
Over this time I have built a confidence in my voice that I never had before. Ko is a excellent singing instructor, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Ko to anyone looking to improve their voice.
As his colleague, I can tell you Koichi’s hunger for knowledge makes him a superior teacher and he will rise to teach and learn from every new voice he encounters.
